I look in your window See your new family
A space left for me
But your relieved
I’m not there to fill it
I’ve always been around
Just a shadow to you
I sigh as I look upon the scene
My thoughts floating in my head

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

I see a picture of me
Hidden beneath a tower of papers
Your other daughters work
Much better than mine
The corner of the picture
The only part I can see
Is fading away
Just like your memories of me

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

I came to you last night
You didn’t even recognize me
Just thought of me
As a strange dream
Then in the morning
You didn’t even remember

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

You look to the window
My spirits lift
But you look right through me
All you see
A stain on the glass
You frown then close the curtain

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

Its been 15 years now
But you try no harder
Do you know I have a family now?
I guess you don’t
You wouldn’t care any ways

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

I’ve always been around
But just a shadow to you
I sigh as I look upon the scene
My thoughts floating in my head
The wind carried me away
Good bye my dad
Good bye for good.
