An introspective outcry

Let us breathe-Remove the wool from our eyes
Let us see.
Let the vines unfurl
Let the ivy cling-
Let us live.
Too long we watch
The swinging watch
Backlit by a cluster of glowing tubes,
Too long we swallow
Words in pill form-
Let the plastic peel from our bodies-
Let us feel.
The carnival wheel churns-
Like vertigo made material-
The circuits blow,
Let the jolts and shocks flow
Let us off.
