Face The Nation

stand up
and face the nation
you made war
now make your proclaimation
you owe us a minute
you owe us some time
guess you should've
thought about that
before sending those folks
to those front lines
we are powerless
against those in black
coming back around
for the 9,520th suicide
bomb attack
we have found
but we keep those troops armed
and we keep them well fed
hoping they come
home unarmed
though our mission
there is clearly dead
but not as much as those
who lie in their own blood
on their way to their own hell
i'm dumbfounded the streets
haven't flooded
and clogged up
the american owned oil wells
though i will protest this fight
and lay my life on one line
the big man in
the big office now feels contrite
holds their life
in his hands
but certainly not mine
step back
take a lead
from rumsfield
and just go ahead
and resign
