i thought i knew
-
love
-
i thought i knew
what it truly was
until reality drew
out all its flaws
-
love
-
a little girl of two
living in sunshine
and fairytales so true;
but that was just a sign
-
love
-
much wiser now; a little bit older
facing reality; not imagination
the world has gotten colder—
from love's harsh temptation
-
love
-
a magnificent thing
you can't live without—
until the pain it may bring
leaves you with many doubts
-
love
-
heartbreak leads you here;
and reality crashes down
leaving you to abjectly fear
in pain, you feel as if you'll drown
-
love
-
and that's when you know
that love is sorrow and pain
and how long it was ago
that light was replaced with rain
