I hear the cracking,

As we fall apart.

I see the tares in your heart,

The tears in your eyes.

I feel the rift,

Splitting further.

I’m pushing away,

But aren’t you?

You see the end,

Waiting just beyond the horizon.

You know what is coming,

Yet you’re so blind.

We hold onto the remnants,

Of what we had.

And ignore the shards of happiness,

Slipping from our grasp

Hiding common knowledge,

Pretending it’s still ok.

While we grasp,

At the slipping strings of love
