Within My Eyes

If you look far enough into my eyes
You will find a part of me
That isn’t controlled by fire
It’s what keeps me from letting go
All I’m asking, is help me find a way
That has not so much ash and flames
To search for the person I am inside
So that I’m not too ashamed
And have to be the one who hides
When will this cloud disappear?
I’m so weak I can hardly breathe
Everything I see, is nothing clear
And every time I try to speak
My mind closes and turns bleak
If you look deep enough into my eyes
You’re bound to find who’s inside
