As you walk through the halls

The world spins around me

Yet I’m thrown off the roller coaster

When she comes along.

It’s been going on like this for a year now –

A love triangle that’s askew.

You two were together…

And I don’t know now what she feels for you.

You lust after her,

I lust after you

Yet I hate her.

You belonged to each other

But all that was shattered.

When you split up,

I hoped you’d be mine.

Now, months later, everyone says

“Back off, you’ll get hurt.”

It’s too late, I’m already in agony.

Physical pain,

Emotional torment.

Only to be assuaged when the night sky glows pink

When no other girl is a factor in your life

When machine guns tear you to strips to find your heart

When I am no longer myself

When I give up needing a daily sight of you.

Never.
