Technophobia crawls

Feeling that Cronenberg paranoia,
staring at this screen,
that telephone,
hearing that snow from the box in the next room.

I’m tryingto hear their voices
like an Indian
pressing his ear to hot rocks
listening for afterlife advice
but instead staggering into the snow-
now nothing but
a poor man’s van gogh.
