Drama Club Vampire Chapter 1

“Alrighty!!!!” the girl at the podium yelled. “It’s decided then! With a vote total of 53 to 47, the play the junior class will put on this year will be….Dracula: Moonlight Romance!!!”

“YES!!” another girl with dark blue hair and blue eyes yelled as she stood up in the middle of the seated auditorium. All eyes stared at her as her face turned red immediately. She sat down quickly.

“Yes…well…” The girl at the podium giggled, “Auditions will be during 5th period lunch.”

“I can’t wait!!” The girl said again walking down through the hallway with a friend.

“Alexi, what is it with you and Dracula? Stuff like that would normally scare you.”

“Izzy, are you kidding?! This is Dracula, Moonlight ROMANCE! It’s a love story! Sure, it gets a little scary, but it’s more like Romeo and Juliet instead of those weird movies made over 100 years ago.” Alexi laughed.

“It was only 60 years ago.” Izzy sighed.

“Same thing.” Alexi smiled. “Oh, put another poster here!”

Izzy slapped a poster on the wall of Kimble Regional High. “Come on…we still have a hundred of these to put up.”

Meanwhile…

“Well, we hope you enjoy it here at Kimble, Mr. Callings. You’ll receive your uniform later today. It’s just a white shirt and black pants, and we allow you accessorize as long as it’s not offensive.” The principal smiled at young man with long, spiky black hair and gold eyes. “That black blazer and jean combo will be alright for today, but please wear the uniform from now on.”

“Heh, no problem. If I may be excused.” The young man smirked.

He opened the door and walked out of the office. He pulled out a map and looked for his first class.

“hmm…..wing….F….alright.”

He began walking to the other side of the school. As he walked, he observed the people who went to his new school; Most of all, the girls in their white tops and blue skirts.

“Let’s see…..her, her, her….ugh, not her….her……ah, what’s this?” He stopped in front of the poster Izzy had put up not too long before.

“…..Dracula…huh?” He smirked widely.

“And next, trying out for the role of Ellie will be…..Alexi Kimble?” The girl at the desk on the stage called out.

“THAT’S ME!!!” Alexi yelled, trampling over about 5 people. She finally stood center stage, panting. She stood up and caught her breath, and began singing.

“Standing cold and scared…on top of blue hill.

There came one moment, where I lost my will.”

It was then the door opened, and the young man with long black hair entered. He heard an enchanting voice and looked onstage.

“I prayed for mercy please lord take me away… Give me sunshine where I only see gray…”

“That voice…”

“My past got hold on me, it can’t be denied…

But the changes didn’t come easily…”

“She’s...”

“I’ve been lonely, I’ve been cheated,

I’ve been misunderstood.

“She’s….”

“But with you I belong,

Cause you helped me be strong.

“…passing out.” He said with a blank face.

Alexi lay on the floor, panting. “He- heh- forgot…to breathe….”

“Great job Alexi.”

“You sang beautifully.”

“Thanks guys” Alexi said to a small group of girls around her.

“Alright, if there are no more auditionee’s….” The girl at the desk began.

“Uh, excuse me….” The young man spoke out. He drew the attention of everyone in the auditorium. “I’d like to audition for Dracula.”

“Oh, is your name on the list?”

“No, I’m…I’m new here.”

“Well….alright, do you have something prepared?”

“I do…” the man said as he walked towards the stage. He jumped up, and stood center stage. He paused for a moment, and began singing.

“There were times I left my heart in vain…

Times I turned and walked away…

I get to where I’m going just to find…

Won’t be happy in this world if you’re not by my side…”

Alexi watched him from offstage. “Wow, he’s pretty good.”

“Good?! He’s…perfect!” a girl standing next to her squealed as she oogled the boy.

“He’s so dreamy!!!” Said another girl.

“Good looks and a great singing voice!” Said another.

“Hmm?” Alexi looked at him again. She shrugged “Eh, I guess.”

“My heart told me to break away…

Now I’m out here far away…

Wish that I could hold you in the night…

Then I wake up to a morning that is warm and bright…”

He finished his song, and looked up. Every girl in the auditorium except Alexi was screaming. One even yelled “HAVE MY BABIES!!”

“Well, this isn’t a contest! Dracula goes to this guy!!”

“Please, please….my name is Drake. Drake Callings.”
