Drama Club Vampire: Chapter 6

New Faces: Rivals and Friends?

“You have your parts and your scripts, be sure to memorize what you need!” Taylor yelled. “I’m sure that won’t be a problem for you Drake…” she swooned in his direction.

“Oh course. I strive to be the best I can be.” He smiled. The girls around him squealed.

Alexi sat on the other side of the stage looking over her script. “The part of Annabelle isn’t too bad.” She sighed. “I would have preferred the part of Ellie, but at least I’m in it.”

Taylor stood center stage and looked around. “Hmm…I wonder where she is…” She looked over the cast list again. “We cast Janelle as Ellie, and she hasn’t even shown up yet-“

The door to the Auditorium swung open, and a dark figure stood in the bright doorway. It walked in, revealing a long curly haired blonde girl with a scarlet vest over her uniform shirt and scarlet sunglasses. She walked down onto the stage, effectively grabbing the attention of everyone in the room. The girl stood center stage and removed her sunglasses very tom boyishly. Looking into the spotlight, she yelled.

“I’m ready for my close up, Mr. Deville!”

------------

“Janelle, please show up on time…” Taylor started.

“Do not interrupt my moment, Plebian!!” a smiling Janelle pointed at Taylor, wagging her finger. “It is VERY rude!!” She raised her nose in the air. “Besides, I’m just fashionably late, as usual.”

“Right… well, here’s your script-“

“HAH!” Janelle yelled, knocking the script from Taylor’s hands to the ground. “Janelle Mont Blanc needs no script! I’ll even act a scene for you right now! Where is my co-star?” She looked around. Spotting Drake, she pointed at him and beckoned him to come. He shrugged and walked over. “Page 65, my Dracula.”

Drake flipped the pages of his script, and read over a small amount of the script. He became slightly puzzled while looking over his part. “But…this is the-“

“You came to visit me again.”

“I uh…had to… I couldn’t…um….”

“May I see your face?”

“This cape may…” Drake increasingly became nervous. He looked over and saw Alexi staring.

“I trust you.” Janelle moved in for the kiss. She leaned in closer… and closer… and closer…

And fell over.

Looking up, she was Drake walking away. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

“Let’s save that for a real rehearsal.” He said, giving a small wave as he walked off stage.

“WHAT?! You DARE insult the great-“ but he was gone.

Janelle picked herself up, and dusted herself off. “Haha! He’s such a shy boy!” she laughed. “It’s alright; I’d be intimidated by the thought of caressing my lips with his as well! IF I wasn't such a skilled actress!” She continued laughing. Alexi still stared from her seat, and stuck finger halfway into her throat.

“Gag”

------------------------

Drake shoved his hands in his pockets and walked down the hallway. The rest of the student body and most of the faculty had left already, so it was almost deserted. A couple of girls walked by him, giggling to each other. He gave them a quick smile and continued walking.

“Some people...” he thought to himself, scratching his head. He looked up at a flickering light, only to ponder more.

“Why was it I felt nervous as she went to kiss me? It’s not like I haven’t done that worse before... but...” He paused for a moment. “Alexi would have seen it...”

He shook his head furiously. “What do I care if she see’s that? I’m just gunna bite her anyway, along with every girl at this school.” He kicked up some dust, and continued walking. He passed by a dark classroom with an open door. From inside the classroom a set of eyes appeared, and a young man with spiky brown hair and a scar over his right eye emerged from the shadows. He called down the hallway to Drake.

“You’re that vampire, right?” Drake stopped in his tracks, and whirled around. The boy laughed. “In the play?”

“Oh... yeah. Uh...” Drake mumbled.

“You’re pretty popular around here.” The boy said, walking towards Drake. “All the girls seem to love you.”

“Hehe, yeah. I don’t know why exactly.” Drake laughed nervously.

The young man walked up next to Drake. “A guy could be pretty popular if he was your friend, right?” He smirked. "We're both pretty new here too. So let’s be friends. Name’s Shorewood. Bryant Shorewood.”

“I’m uh...Drake Callings.”

“Cool. Let’s hang out sometime.” Bryant waved, and walked back the other way. Drake turned, and scratched his head.

“That was odd...” He shoved his hands in his pocket again, and headed for the door.

Back down the other side of the hallway, Bryant pulled a picture from his pocket.

“We’re getting closer father... I’ll find the one soon...” He put the picture back into his pocket. “Callings... Very close...”

Hey, sorry for the short chapter. Had a bit of writers block about these two characters, but I think this does justice. They both might seem shallow, but I plan to expand upon both of them extensivly. Any questions or comments, feel free to leave one in a review. Such things only help me to understand my strengths and weaknesses, so I know what to work on more and less. Thanks for reading so far everyone, I only hope it continues to reach your expectations.
