Drama Club Vampire: Chapter 7

Relief

“And so the sum of the square roots will add up to be 56.” A teacher said as he worked out the problem on the bored. A few rows back from the front on the right side of the room sat Drake, staring out the window. He was taking notes, but was incredibly bored.

“Mr. Callings.”

“Huh? What?” Drake turned his attention back towards the front of the room.

“Mr. Callings I don’t know how they did things at your old school, but here we pay attention.” The teacher lectured. A girl on the other side of the room stood up.

“Don’t you yell at my Drakey poo!”

Another girl stood up. “YOUR Drakey poo?! He’s MY Drakey poo!”

“No he’s MINE!”

“MINE!”

“MINE!”

The girls started to fight with each other. The teacher jumped into the middle and tried to break them up. While everyone in the room got up to circle the fighting girls, Drake snuck out of the class room. Sneaking down the hallway, he reached the stairs and ascended. He climbed all the way to the roof. Arriving, he walked over to the edge of the building, and stared into the distance. His hair blew in the wind, as he pondered recent events. Suddenly, he heard light crying from around the air vent. He walked over, to see Alexi sitting against the vent, sniffling, but smiling.

“Alexi?”

“Huh? Oh, hi Drake...” She wiped the small tears from her eyes. “What’re you doing up here?”

“Just getting some air...why are you crying?”

“Oh, I don’t know...”

“Is it because you didn’t get the part you wanted?”

“No...”

“Is it because Izzy moved away?”

“No...”

“Then...why?”

“I just...I don’t know...”

Drake stared at the girl, and sat down next to her. “Well, what’s wrong then?”

“Nothing...”

“Bollocks. You wouldn’t be crying if that were true.”

“No, I’m being completely serious. I just...sometimes like a good cry.”

“Like...to cry?” Drake pondered.

“I like coming up here, looking at the view, and thinking about all the things that make me happy. When I do, I cry a little...” she turned towards Drake. “I must sound really weird...”

Drake looked at the girl for a second. “Well...yeah. You do.” Alexi giggled. Drake smirked. “But I suppose if that’s what makes you happy, then there’s nothing wrong with it.”

They sat in silence for a few minutes. Finally, Alexi turned towards Drake. “You actually thought I was sad I didn’t get the main role in the play?” She laughed.

Drake began laughing as well. “Hah hah, yeah, I did.” Alexi hugged Drake, which caught him off guard.

“I do appreciate the though Drake...”

He was still bewildered, but he hugged her back. His eyes caught sight of her neck.

“She’s unsuspecting... she’s alone... she’s vulnerable...” he thought. He moved his mouth towards her bare neck, and exposed his fangs. He opened his mouth, and was about to strike.

But he stopped.

He let go of Alexi, and walked a little back towards the door.

“Well, let’s get down from here. Next period is about to start.”

Alexi smiled and nodded, running towards him.

Later that night, Drake lay on his bed, staring up at his ceiling.

“I had her... I had her...why...” He sighed. “Why couldn’t I do it? She was right there! She couldn’t have been easier to bite... so...” he sat up and yelled. “Argh!”

The door to his room opened. Maxwell peeked his head in. “Are you alright Master Drake?”

A snow globe flew across the room and struck the wall next to Maxwell’s head. He let out a scream, followed by Drake yelling.

“How many times do I have to tell you?! When I’m in here, it’s off limits!!”

“I’m sorry Master Drake!” Maxwell yelled, slamming the door.

Drake sat up in his bed, panting. He put his head on his pillow, and closed his eyes.

“Tomorrow. I shall bite her tomorrow.”
