Roses.

I was walking one night after a long day at work.

And I saw you by the wall of roses your face glowing in the moonlight.

I stopped and stared looking at you hypnotized.

And I wondered if you saw me.

Every night I would walk by the wall of Roses and see you there.

One spring night you stopped me to say hi.

And from that night on I was in love.

We would often stand by the Roses holding each other and talk.

And whenever I asked you why you were always there you would always say.

“Just to see you.”

You often compared our love to the Roses on the wall in bloom.

But like every rose our love too must die.

Our love only grew in the hot summer like the Roses on the wall.

But when fall had come around you began to fade.

I remember that late fall night when I got the call saying you were gone.

I fell to the floor feeling the world going all wrong.

In the winter I was withered and dead like the Roses we used to stand by.

But I knew that like the Roses in spring I would bloom.

One spring night after a long day at work I was walking home.

And there I saw the wall of Roses just starting to bloom.

I went to it and saw one Rose already full and red.

I looked at it as I said; “Every Rose must die.”
