The World Can Weigh a Ton When You’re Under Pressure

VERSE 1:

The eyes of the world

Boring into me

Tearing into me

I can’t seem to break free

Of the lies it whispers to my soul

CHORUS: (x2)

The vanity it yells at me

Tries to get me to conform

This emptiness I can’t call bliss

Because I feel

So alone

VERSE 2:

Don’t you dare tell me

Who I ought to be

I can find myself

I don’t need your so-called help

VERSE 3:

Just go away and stay away

Shut your condemning eyes

Silence your bitter lies

I don’t need all material things

In them there is no love

So stop trying to bargain with me

It won’t get you very far.
