Guilty Truth

-

-

-

Living in the world of the unknown,

Seeing through the eyes of the unloved,

Feeling through the hands of the unwanted,

The pain is all around, all around.

The need is all around, all around.

Living through the bodies of the unjustly damned, knowing their pain, feeling their guilt.

Guilt for the crimes they didn’t commit,

Guilt for the people they never told they loved,

Guilt for those who sentenced them.

Unjust guilt! Unneeded guilt!

Who were they to sentence them?

Who were they to think they were better? Higher? More important?

………………………

Sitting here, listening, wondering, leading.

The pages turning, speeding fleeing the touch.

The darkness, the light. Just enough to discern the letters…

Blinded, sunlight pours in…..

The story is finished. The pages are flipped. No more to turn, no more to read.

Out of my head I emerge, vowing never to do what they did……

But the story is done…The book falls, closed…. Never to do what they did.

Feel the guilt that shouldn’t be felt…

The story is ended……the story……story…
