It’s hard to be optimistic about death, unless you can look at it in a not so permanent way. I mean, who’s to say that this life is all there is? This poem isn’t about saying goodbye, so much as saying hello again.
Not For Too Long
This is just a little goodbye
Which means
I guess
That it’s not forever
Because we’ll see each other again
Soon soon soon
Before you can even miss me
Before the tears dry all the way
And no, dear
You can’t follow me
Not just yet
And maybe it hurts now
There’s nothing sweet in goodbyes
Remember
At the end of every goodbye
Is a hello
And I’ll see you soon
Soon soon
