Black Frills
Trapped in a net
Of serrated confusion,
A painful mess,
An unfurled forked tongue.
Dripping of poison,
Flashing the dark
Like a frilly young girl
Flashes her dress
Soaked deep in blood.
And the light recedes,
As crimson takes over
Seeping across
What’s left of day,
Though day is all
That will let it be seen.
Invisible footprints
Of infested despair,
And the dark intertwines
With remaining light,
Submerging them
In red-stained frills.
The innocent face
And the cheeky smile,
Unaware that surrounding
Engulfing, ingesting,
The world is tainted,
Laced in cruel death.
