MY CAGE

A silent tear falls through the bars;

The bars of my cage.

A wooden soul left splintered dust;

Armored and unscathed.

My cage is made from all your souls;

Yours souls frozen shut.

My soul trapped broken, splintered dust;

And mind is severed, cut.

The tears fall silent through excruciating night;

A night cold and dead.

To land upon a stone-strewn shore;

Shore of a sea gone red.

A sea so red it flows like blood;

Blood in planet’s heart.

Dead in all but name and faith;

As me and my cage are torn apart.
