Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Break the glass and watch them fall.

Beautiful perfection can never last,

For in the light a shadow is cast.

A smiling face can hold as much

Hatred as a demon's touch.

Then in the clear sky appears a cloud,

And silent lies become so loud

That friendly smiles can burn your ears,

And generous gifts bring desperate tears.

What once seemed an apple, to spare you hunger,

Now is poison, tearing your life asunder,

And in the streets, hub of this deception,

The falling snow becomes reflection

Of sneering faces, and jealous thoughts,

And you wish it would stop more than you ought.

Yet the snow still falls, the world turns cold,

And love seems like a myth of old,

But through the dark shines light still kind,

And loving hearts each other may find.

For even cursed with hate and death,

A hopeful soul can still draw breath.

Through the mirror, snow and ice ridden,

We can see what once was hidden.

So, mirror, mirror on the wall,

What now will become of us all?
