My Walls

The smooth walls surround me

As I look up and see the light.

There is no way out.

I grasp at the walls

looking for anything to hold on to.

There is nothing.

I scream but noone answers.

-

I lay in my room

on the floor

still screaming our for help.

I am no longer in the hole,

no longer surrounded by the walls.

There is still no way out,

out of my depressive state of mind

-

I am my own worst enemy.

I was the one who created these walls.

The imaginary walls that are felt

but cannot be seen by the naked eye.

The walls that control my miserable life.

That keep people out

and my emotions in.

-

My emotions are hidden away

Never being revealed to anyone

Building up and wanting to be released

These walls I built for protection,

Protection against the world.

They are now what destroys me

There is no way out
