Gone

The somber skies reflect

That damned dream we dreamt

The tender tears we shed

Our time together spent

Your lavish and luscious lies

Invade my vision and mind

Like the sweet sheet of dead leaves

Invades the October sky

The trees in spring

Are mere mockery

Of what used to be

Made for you and me

The wicked white snow

Is as icy and isolated as my woes

Even in this diminishing dreary death

My darling, I still love you so

Oh, naked and never ending nature

In your beauty lies my love forever lost

And my present state I sense

In your cascades of cruelty and cold

The wily whispers of the wind

Sad songs of silence sing

Everything encompassing me

Terrible and tragic thoughts bring

The cold careless ground I tread

Feels fake against my feet

I feel as if though I should be

Buried beneath it instead

The rapid ripples of the wandering water

Spread like the memory of your lively laughter

Greeting me gracefully today or tomorrow

Then horribly haunting me ever after

The soft shapes of the shades

Handsomely hide your unforgiving face

With a final flash it fades

Gone forever, without a trace
