Lightning

Stormy clouds of darkness,
Claiming my soul.
Massive swells of thunder,
Inciting a desperate madness.
My heart you stole
In this cold, burning rain of November.

Smoldering wells of evil,
Seducing my soul for the devil.
Blackened blood rushing in my veins,
For your heart - I know - it must strain.

Like bells, it is.
Sings to me, it does.
Incorrigible strength, it has.
My love for you, it is.
Tortures me, it does.
Fiery energy, it has.

Then save me,
Like lightning.
Then free me,
Like fire.
Then help me,
Like iron.
Then love me,
With or without passion.

My heart you stole,
My soul you freed,
My mind you saved,
Just by taking my hand.
You struck me too hard,
So hard I cannot stand;
I’ve fallen, and I’m falling.
You struck me too hard,
It hurts, maybe tingles a little –
Just like lightning.
