The sire stood between the giants
Tall pines and evergreens
Reaching to touch the sky
Oh how still everything seemed on this night
It was almost enough to set
His heart a flutter
With the faintest zephyr
Gallant he paused
Standing cannon deep
In colorlessly pallid cascading snow
He remembered
How he cherished this time of year
When he could gather many others
So close to him
A Charcoal coat littered with white
Like powdered sugar atop brownies
Gentle, chocolate eyes
Gracing everything upon which he gazed
Such a majestic sight!
With a light spirit
He tossed his cranium lightly
Lifting up his body
Letting loose his mane
Holding his banner high
He reared
The pleasant ringing of bells
Filled the air
Green and red ribbons
Wrapped ‘bout his shanks jingling
Bright flashes of Emerald and Crimson
Tossed about his nape amid the ebony
And through the streaming tail
For this twas Ribbon’s favorite time of year…
