Feelings scattered thin
Like ashes on the open ocean
Dreams faded in the background
Remnants of wishing, and hoping

The fate was predetermined
For survivors of the storm
As they clung to anything that floated
Their lifeless bodies, emaciated, and deformed

Chorus A)
Deliverance is nearly as fictitious
As a happy ending...
(Their rescuers never came in time...)
Their rescuers never came at all...
Despite their constant arsenal
Of praying and pretending
(When push came to shove, they knew...)

Their demise could not be stalled...

Their ruined lives
Slowly brought in with the tide
Still encased in the current
And manner by which they died

Now there's a hole in my chest
Where my heart should be found
But no ones going to make amends
Cause you can't tread these grounds

(Bridge)

And now this world's on the verge
Of imploding from sorrow's burden...
But no one's going to do anything
To alleviate this hurting...

(Chorus B)
Deliverance is nearly as fictitious
As a happy ending...
(Our rescuers will not come in time...)
Our rescuers will not come at all...
Despite our constant arsenal
Of defending and denying
(When push comes to shove, we know...)
Our demise will not be stalled...
