Little point of heaven

You look down on me so sweetly

Tainted by the glowing air

You still press on to reach me in my

Eyes sewn shut by winter’s night

And still I see your beating light

Cause I don’t care how cold it is

A jacket couldn’t fill me with your

Light that fills the gaping evening

Chasms filled with colored jewels

A thousand pictures, million sayings

Endless, countless, minutes gazing

Up into the skies up on my

Car hood still warm from the journey

Gone from all the baggage that we

Left below back in the city

When I get my iron wings

A shiny metal sticker that I’ll

Use to one day leave from here

To fly away from hate and fear

I’ll know that I can look to you

Always staying right above me

Watching over carefully

Guiding my wings tenderly

Eyes are dropping, head is heavy

Off to rest I go now so I’ll

Live to fight another day

Carry on in my own way

Please keep watching over me

Just as you have for these many

Years of good and bad alike that

I have put my trust in you tonight
