(my name goes here)

the tears lining my eyes
so delicately
watching you walk away
(little did I know
this day would change my life)

i can still picture us
laughing, smiling
we were supposed to be in
l o v e
(you know, the kind you used to write about
you thought you were such a poet
as you put my name in every title)
you kissed me like i was the one
held me like i was the one
whispered sweet nothings to me like i was the one
--
i could feel you slipping away
you came home late
and you couldnt look me in the eye
(oh, but i loved you for trying)
we stopped talking and laughing
you started lying
i started crying
we started fighting
but we loved each other, we LOVED each other
we loved each other, i suppose
--
and i watched you go
choking on regrets,
silently hoping you would
turn around
(no, no! we're in LOVE
we'll get through this, we will
thats what love does
makes everything magically better)

and we loved each other, i suppose
