TITLED "I'M SORRY"

I walked alone on a beaten path

and I stumbled over a rock

I had tears pouring out my eyes

and I swore I would never go back.

"I'm sorry."

I still hold true to my never ending promise

Never staying for very long

I wanted to feel a difference...

But then... You were gone.

"I'm sorry."

I had a small friend once

and she never told me a lie

I had to ask her constantly

Why she had to die

But she just always smiled

and told me it was alright

That my heart didn't even matter

so that I should Just give up.

"I'm sorry."

Well I didn't give up on her ever

though she gave up on herself

I worried about her constantly...

and she just told me to get some rest.

"I'm sorry."

One day I found out she was gone

Killed herself one day

I looked up when I heard the words...

the ones so hard to say...

"I'm sorry."

I still walk alone on the beaten path

That I once wanted to help her cross

But then I found out she took the easy way out...

and I was left to mourn her loss.

"I'm sorry."

I Will never return to her grave sight,

for there's nothing left for me to say...

her final words scribbled on her palm that day...

"I'm Sorry."
