Quest for Love

Chapter One

It was a bright, sunny day in the Lost Forest. Everything seemed calm and silent to a young girl named Serena Kumihara. Serena is a tall, young girl about twenty-seven. She has long electric black hair and she is wearing a long red and black kimono, within her obi Serena has a katana and around her shoulders she is holding a bow and some arrows.

As Serena walks through the Lost Forest she gets a sudden jolt of anxiety. She cannot wait for the meeting in Kahido village. Her boss, Akito Hiroshi, had told Serena that her special talents as an assassin were needed in Kahido village and that her pay would be high. Serena had left Osikia an hour after the meeting with her boss. She was very anxious to see what her new quest would be.

After an hour of walking through the Lost Forest, Serena finally sees Kahido and an even more powerful burst of anxiety hits her. She speeds up her walk when finally she reaches a small inn she is to stay at. Serena enters the inn and hurries up to the room that Akito told her to go to. When she enters her room it is beautifully decorated with Japanese paintings and on her bed there lays a Japanese silk blanket. On top of the fabric there is a note. Serena picks it up and reads the front of the note. It reads:

Dear Serena,

We the Jenji Four are happy that you are so kindly lending your talents. At 4:30 today we graciously invite you to join us for dinner in the meeting hall so we can discuss the details of your mission.

The Jenji Four

Serena looked at a clock hanging on the wall; it was ten minutes to 4:30 so she rushed down stairs and went into the meeting hall. As she enters the meeting hall, Serena sees a long table with four seats on the side farthest from her and on the other side there is one seat. Sitting in the four seats there are two men and two women. One of the women motions for Serena to come closer to the table. When Serena gets to the table she bows low and seats down.

"Ah here she is, the girl that will make our village traitor free," Said the women in the middle "My name is Sayuri Toshiko, the girl on the left of me is Yoko Hiroko, the man to the right of me is Hiro Hatsuharo and the other man to the right of Hiro is Momiji Tadashi. We are the Jenji Four."

"What is my mission?" said Serena

"Here in Kahido we have a rebel that needs to be….demolished," said Hiro "We hope your abilities as an assassin can help us!"

"Hmm….what's is this rebel's name?" asks Serena

"His name is Saito Yokoshido," said Sayuri "He's the leader to a protest group and without a leader the protestors won't be able to protest anymore"

"We are pretty sure he's hiding up in the northern hills," said Yoko "It's a two day walk to the hills."

After Serena was done with her dinner, she bowed low to the Jenji Four. Serena heads up to her room and goes to sit by the window in her room. The moon is shining brightly.

After an hour of sitting by the window, Serena finally falls asleep. Many hours pass when finally Serena opens her eyes. The light of the sun shines through the window. Serena gets up and gets dressed in a dark blue kimono. She grabs her katana and her bow and arrow then heads out of her room and out of the inn. Serena heads north to the hills. She walks for two days straight, through forest and fields, when she finally sees a small protestor's village on top of a small hill.

When Serena gets into the town she looks for an inn. When she finds an inn, Serena heads to her room and puts her stuff up. After she is done putting her stuff away, Serena goes into the village and tries to find Saito. Serena asks around when finally one told her Saito is on top of the hill in an okia. Serena thanked the man then headed off towards the okia. When gets to the top of the hill, she sees a man walking around the front of the okia. Serena tries to remember hoe the Jenji Four described him. After awhile of pondering Serena made her way to the man.

"Hello are you Saito Yokoshido?" asks Serena

"Yes I am and who might you be?" asked Saito

"I am Serena Kumihara…I heard about your protest and I wanted to help." Serena lied

"You did…hmm…I guess our protest is getting to people," says Saito "Well then in that case…Welcome aboard!"

Saito bows to Serena and she bows back.

"So where are you staying?" Saito asks

"Oh I'm staying in a local inn," said Serena "I have no where else to stay"

"You should stay in a more comfortable place…how about you stay in this okia with me?!" said Saito

"No that won't be necessary" said Serena bowing graciously

Serena is startled that Saito trust strangers so easily. Saito moves closer to Serena and grabs her hands and leads her to the okia.

"I insist," said Saito "Come I'll show you the okia!"

Saito leads Serena into the okia and shows her the entire house, he showed her all the beautiful paintings and he even showed the garden. Then Saito opens a door to a very bright room.

"This here will be your room," said Saito "It's gorgeous isn't it!"

"Oh my….its more than words can describe," said Serena with a giant smile on her face "Is this how you always treat your guests?"

"Well most of them," said Saito "I'll send Mariko to go get you stuff!"

"Oh No…ummm ill just go get them myself" said Serena

"Fine I'll meet you back here at 5 pm for dinner down in the dining hall!" said Saito

"Ok then...I'll just be going then" Said Serena rushing out of the okia.

Serena hurries to the inn and checks out. For some reason Serena is actually excited to be staying with the man is suppose to kill. She doesn't know why but she does. Serena rushes back to the okia and goes to the room that Saito showed her. She then heads to the dinning hall to have dinner with Saito. She also in the back of her mind is planning on how to kill Saito. She enters the dinning hall and sits across the table from Saito. Dinner is already on the table so Serena digs in. Saito tries his best not to laugh at Serena but he can't hold it in he burst out laughing. Serena laughs with him. After dinner Saito walks Serena back to her room and tells her goodnight. As soon as he leaves Serena grabs her Katana and gets ready for tonight's kill.
