The Final December - December 31st, 2006 (3:36 am)
Silver strings of silk tangle in webs,
chilling shivers retort from the breeze.
The puzzle of broken glass lay
unfinished on the rugged wood floor.
The calendar tells me that it's
November twenty-ninth, but I correct
it and say that it's December
thirty-first. But it's not the
calendar's fault, now is it?
The thoughts, the memories...
they all come rushing back.
Choking on tears long shunned,
it all comes down to this.
Once, this place was my home,
this is where I connected with
myself.
A memory is all that is left
for us now, it's all we have left
to hold onto. Was it worth it
for you?
