Questions that shouldn’t be asked
Why do we cry?
Is there truly a total loss?
Is death something that can be avoided?
Or is it just a part of how life is, and should be?
Is there more to sorrow than just pain?
Is there more to hate than anger?
Is there more to pride than insecurities?
Or is it just a part of human nature, something we can’t avoid?
Is there more to fear than worry?
Is there more to murder than disgust?
Is there more to suicide than emotions?
Is there more to life than darkness?
I’d like to have all the answers, but I don’t.
I’d like to be able to tell you everything is gonna be alright, but I can’t.
I’d like to hold you in my arms and tell you how much I love you, but I can’t.
If the American was truly free, and if we are truly created all equally,
then why do we still suffer?
Why do we still pain?
If we are all truly created in the same image
and all truly saved by His grace
then why are we in such a dilemma?
We are the way we are not by choice
but by make up, and past.
We are who we are
that’s something that should for a long time last.
We are not going away
so why not open your eyes and see.
These are questions coming from a child
A boy no more than sixteen.
If a boy can ask such questions as these,
and have such intellect behind them as well,
then maybe we should all take hands
and try to make peace.
Maybe if we do
then we can truly tell
that we are as many as the grains of sand.
There’s something alike in me and you,
what it is we shall see.
And then maybe we can truly be
