All the Way to Heaven

He flicked the lighter, licking the flame against his cigarette, bringing the cylinder to his lips and taking a long drag, holding the smoke for a moment before breathing it out, gray wisps curling towards the heavens.

“The world is ending, and all you can do is smoke?”

Kasch looked down past the balcony he was carelessly perched upon, down to the dead gardens and to his brother's thin, pale face. He smiled, colorless eyes thinning as he flicked his cigarette, ash plummeting to the ground.

“Taivas...” He shifted, demonic eyes staying locked with the black of his younger brother. “You're lucky to die without anything to hold you down.”

Kasch inhaled, feeling smooth smoke in his mouth and lungs and laid back on the balcony's railing. He exhaled.

And watched the smoke rise to the heavens.
