The pain will not cease

Even though he has stopped

punishing her for being born

She tries to run

She tries to hide

There is no where to hide

From the pain that he causes

She is away from him now

But he is always there

Haunting her life

She is no longer physically hurt by him

But he got into her head

He beats her up inside

She allows him to do that to her

The bruises are no longer external

The bruises are rooted deep inside

The wounds grow deeper each day she lives

She tries to forget

But she cannot allow her self to

She still allows him to hurt her each day

She cannot get over the pain
