First steps

As i stand here at your gates I see you have let go of my hand And its clear im on my own

I can't see beyond And i am weeping deep inside And you have a smile on your face?

Why is that i can still feel your presence And i know that this feeling will not fade Once i cross the threshold

The sun is setting behind me I am running out of time I know if i stay here you will leave me

For you are moving on with or without me So my choice is clear:
To be with you forever I must take these first steps

Like any infant i will stumble But ill get up Like my mother once did

You are calling to me with open arms Edging me to go fourth

I know how proud you will be Once you see i can walk on my own Those few steps will begin a life long journey

But first i have to stand up
