My Eleanor

Louis VII sat down in his chair. It had been years since his wife Eleanor divorced him of consanguinity. Louis VII didn’t think it was Eleanor’s fault. In fact he thought it was her Uncle Raymond’s fault. Ever since she had gone with him to the Crusades and stayed in Antioch was a horror for Louis. Louis decided to go and fight in the Second Crusade because god would forgive him for what he’s done. Something he would never forget.

Flashback

Eleanor persuaded Louis to go to war. When he arrived at Vitry, People refused to acknowledge he was a king. So Louis decided to burn down Vitry. The next day he realized that he burnt down a church in Vitry. The people who were in the church were seeking refuge from Louis and all his men. When he found out that there was old people and young children in the church, he wanted to commit suicide. But Eleanor told him that God wanted him to rule, so he ruled.

End of Flashback

When Louis and Eleanor set off for the crusade, they found it was a hard journey. Many of Louis’s army died, and when they were about to give up hope, they arrived in Antioch. There Louis and his men rested. When Louis found out that Uncle Raymond had been persuading Eleanor to divorce Louis, he was furious. Eleanor kept asking for divorce, but Louis didn’t want to divorce her. Louis loved her too much. He would do anything for her but not this.

After the crusades Louis and Eleanor decided to talk to Rome about their marriage. They both agreed that if Eleanor had another daughter; then they would get another divorce. When Eleanor got a daughter, Louis was disappointed. Not only because they haven’t got an heir yet, but because he had to divorce his one true love.

Eleanor and Louis were divorced. Right after they were divorced; Eleanor married Henry Plantagent. Louis was furious. Eleanor and Henry were more related than Eleanor and Louis. When Louis married again, Eleanor became Queen of England. Louis and his Queen were having a hard time together, whereas Eleanor and Henry were in peaceful bliss. Every night he thought about Eleanor.

When Henry took a lover, Louis was mad. He was unfaithful to Louis’s love, Eleanor. He was going to tell Eleanor, but Eleanor had already found out.

Years later, the Queen of France died and Louis had to marry again. Finally he got the male heir he had waited so long for. He knew that Eleanor had bore Henry many sons. Louis was furious they were supposed to be his sons not Henry’s

When Louis found out that Eleanor had rebelled against Henry, he wanted to help her. Before he could do so, he found out that Eleanor was captured and that she was a prisoner in the Tower of London.

“Why does Henry have to have Eleanor and not me?” asked Louis aloud. “Oh, Eleanor! My Eleanor!” Louis got out of his chair and went into the chamber room to discuss state matters.
