Fading Nightmare
There is a loneliness,
Not caused by
Friends' apathy or family's fury,
But rather by him,
By his abandonment.
And you miss him,
So much,
That just the memory of
His searing hot lips
On the sensitive skin of your throat
Tasting the pulse hidden there
With his tongue
Sends your world spinning.
Dreaming of him at night
Leaves you breathless
And hungry for him.
All you need is his touch
To light up your face.
But it will never happen.
Instead his lips meet hers-
The jealousy drives you insane.
He's too nice to intentionally flaunt her;
He can't help it- he thinks he's in love.
So you slink back into the shadows,
Hiding your hurt and pain,
Feigning indifference,
And let the loneliness overtake you-
Again…
But then he's there,
Kissing your fingers,
Saying he loves you.
It must be a dream.
Suddenly his lips find yours,
Frantically taking them in a kiss,
Somehow still gently caressing
It's real, he's here
And you're responding,
Before you realize,
You're kissing him back,
Weaving your fingers through his soft hair
As he pulls you closer,
Hands on your hips
Broken heart forgotten,
Ecstacy rising in you,
Because you understand
He's always been yours.
Closing your eyes against,
Turning you back on,
Lonliness-
It's just a fading nightmare.
And the tears?
A forgotten memory.
