Prologue

She looked at me with those eyes. God, those blue eyes with that dirty-blonde hair. I wanted to hold her in my arms around. Her soft skin against me and her head lying on my chest, listening to my heart beat. My chin resting on her little pretty head. She's so beauty even though she's not what you expect for a guy like me to date.

Chapter One

She's not popular and I am. She's not a cheerleader. I'm the star quarter back. She's like an outcast to us, but I fell head over heels for her. Her name was Sidney, but her friends call her Sid and so does everyone else. I don't know why, but when she smiles. I melt.
That's not the only problem we had. Her friends hated my friends and my friends hated them. Skaters and preppies didn't get along real well, especially when I'm around the skaters and Sid is around my friends.

It was like we were never meant to be. Living different lives, my parents would never accept her, but I wasn't giving up. It wasn't love at first sight. I thought she was cute--real cute, but my hopes of at least being friends were smashed into tiny pieces when her friends came up to her.

You thought things couldn't possibly get worse, oh, you were wrong. My football pals came over and the cheerleaders. If I didn't say anything, people could have gotten hurt. Before they got into their fit, I stepped forward.

"No need for war." I chuckled slightly but Sid stepped forward.

"The big jackass is right for once." My face fell and a grim frown came across. Her friends snickered at her come back.

"That's it!" I was in her face with in a matter of seconds. We stared at each other eyes for a few seconds, before her boys took her place. We had a little stare off, their face softened slightly as my temper cooled down.

"Come on, Chance, like you said "No need for war"" My friends chuckled as the guys pulled me away from them. Glancing back at them, they were checking out Sid then back at me. The two boys that had taken her place had a slight frown and the others plus the girls were glaring at me.

"You should have seen her face!" A member of the wrecking crew hollered as the guys and cheerleaders laughed. "She looked so surprised. I think you scared her!" I pushed him forward and gave a muffle. "Yea, yea, you would be scared too." I grinned as he got in my face. A two hundred pound of fat and muscle against me, hundred and thirty-five pound, five foot eight inches dirty blonde, green eyed kid. The odds of me winning, it's half and half. I punch hard and he could knock the wind outta my guts.

We just grinned wider as the tense air cooled. Laughing again as we entered our classes. They day went by, me jerking off. Being a normal jackass football player, until I got my classes changed. And it was only half the day. Grimacing as my friends had no classes with me. It was after winter break and I was a junior at seventeen. Sighing as I went to my new classes and froze when I walked into my first one. Sid and her friends were there. Looking at my card again, I had drama.

"Hey!" One of them hollered. "It's the dumbhead! What the freak is he doing here!?" I felt all eyes on me, including hers. Most of the kids laughed as I walked down the walkway, and tripped over a foot that a smartass decided to put. Standing up within a few seconds, I had a fist in his face. "Do it again, I dare ya," I hissed in his face. Everyone was silent.

"Mister Lane!" I looked up seeing Mr. Smith walking towards me. He was the drama teacher and well, the look on his face had me slightly worried.

"Please, call me Chance." I slightly hated my last name, but his face didn't change.

"After school here," my mouth dropped. "But I got football practice!" I raised my voice but he just waved a paper in front of my face. "No buts, Mister Lane."

He walked away and I just took my seat, close to the back. Glaring at the one who tripped me and got me, he wasn't as big as I was. He had brown hair that was dyed green in some places. He wore a green shirt and black tie with black jeans that looked a little bit too clingy to his legs. That boy that the nerve to look over at me and grin. This wasn't over.
