She was crying, shedding numerous, unstoppable tears, salty water running down her cheeks in an endless river, throat blocked up. Choking, sniffling, desperately wiping liquid on her sleeve, disregarding the story displayed on the computer screen in front of her.

‘Goddammit, Rui! RUN!’ The brown-haired boy shouted, desperately trying to hold the door shut with his shoulder. The other hesitated.

‘What about you, Saiku?’ He stopped, facing the exit.

‘I’ll be fine.’ He smiled, reassuring him. False lies--there was no way he’d survive this.

‘And zero-sin? What will happen to it?’

‘Restart it, Rui. Build it again. I’ll be there with you-just go!’ He started to shake, blood flowing from numerous wounds.

‘No.’ The other was resolute. ‘I’m staying here. With you.’

‘Shit,’ Saiku spat, ‘What are you? Stupid? If you stay here, then you’re wasting the life that you have! Go. Be happy. It’s not your time, Rui.’

‘It’s not yours either!’

‘Yes, it is. It’s been long overdue. Now run! Unless you want me to die in vain, run.’

He bit his lip, and then turned. And ran.

Saiku sighed, smiling faintly. Took him long enough. Looking up at the low ceiling, he thought bitterly.

The last charge of zero-sin comes now.

I’ll see you soon, everyone.

He stopped forcing his shoulder against the door, and ran towards the mob empty handed.

‘Hey.’ Saiku waved, not bothering to turn around.

‘Aww, not going to bother to greet me properly?’ Rui laughed, looking down through the clouds at the members of saiku clustered around his dead body.

‘We’ll be together for a long time. You’ll probably be sick of me soon.’ He finally turned, peering down at the same spot as Rui. ‘Oh. It finally was your time, wasn’t it?’

‘Yeah.’ He laughed. ‘Hopefully my lieutenant won’t do what I did and rebuild it named after me.’

‘That was embarrassing.’ He playfully punched the other in the shoulder.

‘Shut up. It seemed right.’ He stretched. ‘Are the others here?’

‘Yeah. I saw them a little. Let’s look for them?’

‘Sure. I miss them.’

And hand in hand, they walked over the clouds.

She continued crying, holding a hand over her mouth muffling the sobs, tears spilling over.

With salty water still leaking from her eyes, she started typing, pouring sorrow through the keys onto the screen, saving it, and uploading it on impulse.

It’s the story you're reading now.

When your time comes, may you have happiness after.

May you all have happiness someday, and may your end be kind to you.
