Ok. So here I am on plane to San Diego, California. Yep. I got accepted to go to Clifton Boarding School for Boys. The only problem… I’m a girl.
FLASHBACK.
“Honey! Come downstairs for a minute, please. Your father and I need to talk to you about something.” My mom hollered up the stairs to me.
“Coming!” I ran down the stairs, two at a time. “Did you need something?”
My dad answered. “No, we just wanted to let you know some excellent news. You got a full scholarship to go to the Clifton Boarding School in California.”
“A full scholarship? But my grades aren’t that good… Wait a minute! Clifton! Isn’t that where Jared goes?!”
My mom spoke up. “Well, yes.”
“But, mom. Jared goes to an ALL BOYS boarding school! Why would you be telling me I got into it?”
“The Headmaster at Jared’s school called and said that they want to try something. They are thinking about making Clif (that’s what everyone calls the school for short) into a girls and boys school and they need to run a trial. They are going to allow one girl attend the school this year. You know the Headmaster and I are close friends. We all know that if you went to the school, you wouldn’t be any trouble. He offered a full scholarship.” My dad explained.
“And you’re just going to send me there! You didn’t even think to ask me. What if I don’t want to go? Huh?”
“Honey. It’s a great school. Just try it. And it’s not like you won’t know anyone there. You’ll have Jared…”
My brother who was home for summer break chose that moment to saunter into the room. “Have Jared for what?” He asked.
I turned to my parents. “You mean, you haven’t even told him?!”
I could tell Jared was curious about what we were talking about from the look on his face. “Haven’t told me what?”
I spoke up before my parents could. “Oh. Didn‘t you hear? Mom and Dad are sending me to go to school at Clif.” I ran up the stairs to my room and slammed the door. I could faintly hear my parents telling Jared about the fact that I was going to be going to be attending school with him in the fall.
I lay on my bed, in thought, before I eventually fell asleep. The last thing I heard was my brother’s voice. “I don’t have to share a room with her, do I?”
END FLASHBACK.
Ok. So, there’s the first chapter for ya! Let me know what you think by reviewing! And I would really appreciate it if you could help me think of a title for this story. Thanks!
