I think I have a sun –

I think I have a sun,
It follows me around.
It glances in your eyes,
Likes what it finds there.

A red-gold afternoon
Is streaking down the road.
I'm hoping to belong
To all this beauty.

My footsteps entwine
With you and your designs
You have a quest for me
And I can trust you.

My sun and I disguise
The morning in my smile
We fill my satchel up
With wishful futures.

So glad to have arrived
I'm my own nice surprise.
We are an errant star
Who has come home.

a song for February.
