Is It Wrong?

I don’t like being right all the time.

Where’s the fun in that?

The world seems so on-cue.

I don’t like doing that either.

I’m not going to say I’m completely different;

no one is, really.

Everyone always has something

that is just like

someone else’s.

I’m just saying that, it seems to me,

I’m different,

in more ways that one,

to everyone else.

Even if some things are

the same.

I am weird. I like it.

I love the way people think

I’m crazy.

Is it wrong?

Can I be a wanderer

in a world full of lemmings?

Sheep. Black or white.

They pick on each other just like

we do. We’ll always do.

I’m not saying I’m a black sheep;

there are plenty of those.

I’m not a white one either –

definitely not.

I’m different.

Is it wrong?

Can I be a purple sheep

in a flock of black and white?

I say yes to that

but sometimes I say no

to other things.

I don’t lie to protect

and keep content.

I’m not saying I won’t feel bad,

but I won’t say yes

to keep a smile on

your face.

I’m real.

Is it wrong?

Can I say no

in a world full of yes-men?

Yes. No. One. Two.

Two personalities.

Three? Four?

I’m not saying I’m schizophrenic;

that’s a serious problem.

My mind’s just a bit…split.

Split in five? Six?

I lost count.

It doesn’t matter.

I’m me.

Is it wrong?

Can I be me

in a world against me?

No? Too bad.

I say yes.
