Hello, all. This is just another stupid poem that I wrote, even though I can't write poems very well. It's just that, recently, in school, we've been writing TONS of poems, and I figured, Why not just post them online so they're not a complete waste of my time? Thus, the surplus of sucky poetry from Eminempern.
This particular poem is about the veterans from the Vietnam War, which we were reading about. You know, the vets who came back were very poorly received, 'cos no one wanted them to even be in Vietnam in the first place. Thus, my teacher demanded - ahem. My teacher gave us the assignment of writing a poem to honor the vets.
Yes, I'm shutting up now. Please read/review!
Guns, shots fired, lives lost
All in one big boom
The world is short another man
A wife a widow, far too soon
Yet how does America give its thanks
For lives lost in her name?
She doesn’t give them a single thought
Or any small bit of fame
You made it back, all of you
And to you I clap my hands
Consider my respect to be worth as much
As several marching bands
