Chapter 1 – Revival

( Claire’s POV )

Six years of it all. Of the pain and suffering we were going through. All to lead up to that night, for the last time…

We were in the Vampire Mansion, just sitting there, Takai was a total wreck. The rest of us were too, of course, but she was affected by it much worse than any of us. I just couldn’t take the depression anymore. It was all too much for me to take another day of. At all cost, I was going to get Kenji back.

It was later that night I stood in the graveyard, in front of Kenji’s grave. A set of dog tags that had been his clutched tightly in my fist, I began counting to ten. One… two… three…
A raised my fist above the grave, closing my eyes. The glint of a small blade reflected in the room as I brought it to my wrist. Four... five… six… I let the blood droplets mingle with the sodden soil. Seven… eight... nine… I opened my closed fist, but my eyes stayed tightly shut, “Ten…” I whispered as the dog tags slid from my open hand and hit the soil where a small puddle of blood lay, “Revive!”

There was a blinding light that lasted a mere second or so before fading away. I blinked the spots away from my eyes and gasped happily, “Kenji!” I cried. Kenji lay there, blinking confused, “Am I in hell?” he asked groggily, wincing as he sat up. He spotted me and stared in utter confusion.

I went over and hugged him lightly, “You’re alive, Kenji!” I smiled, “Are you okay??” I added giving him a worried look. “I dunno” he said, the grogginess gone from his voice, but the pain still evident on his pale face. He stood shakily, “I’ll be all right after some rest” he mumbled.

I looked at him doubtfully, “But, you’re not walking” I added, transporting us automatically back to the mansion. I lay him down on the couch and went into the kitchen where everybody was. “Hey guys, mind coming with me to the sitting room?” I asked quietly. Rin looked up, her eyes sad, ”Why?” she asked quietly. I smiled, “You’ll see, just come on…”
