Chapter Three – A Broken Promise

Takai and Isabella walked into the Office, greeted by the arguing of the two old friends.

“Yes, you will”
“No. I. will. Not”
“How much you wanna bet? Hi Takai, M’am” Jay said smiling sweetly as the two entered the room.
“Bastard” Kenji growled under his breath
“Right back at chya, now speak or I’ll speak for you.”

“So umm… lets see… I’ve no idea how to say this… Word it… Speak it…” Kenji thought for a moment, as Isabella and Takai glanced at each other. “Explain what, sweetie?” Isabella asked. Kenji gestured to Jay, “This guy. Who he, what he is, you know… That stuff…”

Jay rolled his eyes, “Damn and you’re a Clan Leader? My name’s Jay-Jay Mizuki, or Jay, I am twenty-seven years old, going on twenty-eight. I am a vampire, once a member of one of the biggest and... err… Greatest city clans around that got caught years back.” He began, “I’m one of the only few to survive, blah, blah, blah. Umm, what else? OH, the main details, of course!”

Kenji glared at him, “Introduction over. Sit down, shut up” he said smugly, “Moving on, now that you know all that, to what I’m supposed say to keep the “No secrets from those I love” deal valid.:

Takai looked confused, “What’d you mean? I thought we knew everything?” she questioned him. “Not exactly everything…” Kenji said with a nervous laugh. “But, after this, it’s all. I swear.”

“Okay” Takai and Isabella said in unison, “what is it then?”

Kenji hesitated, glancing over at Jay, who only gave a reassuring smile.

You have to tell them, you know you do. I’m here though, relax. Jay said speaking mentally to Kenji.
But, what if it all gets screwed up? The worried voice replied
What happens, happens. If they can’t accept the past, then they aren’t worth it. Jay said Now go on and get it over with.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he spoke, “Jay isn’t my friend, he was…” he said quietly, “we were once… what… we were once what me and Takai are now.” He said

“We were once a couple…”
