“Have you heard? There’s a new Bearer transferring to here, Academy.”

“Yes! Yes!” one shouted excitedly.

“Really?” another asked in confusion.

“I heard he had just been discovered in a small town.”

“What is Search doing?” one asked in anger and disgust.

“Yeah! A Bearer left undiscovered for more than ten years?”

“Don’t they know how precious Bearers are? And one was left in the outside world for so long?”

“Yeah!” a lot more agreed.

The Room

“It seems rumours spread like mad fire again. The students had gotten hold of the information,” a boy commented seemingly offhandedly. (Zephyr Venetianer, 17, red-hair, azure eyes, 6 feet 9, secretary of Sakura Committee, the Student Council in other words)

“Yeah, and they look like they will be going on strike anytime.” (Ed von Brandt, 17, blonde with deep blue eyes, 6 feet 9, accountant of Sakura Committee)

“That’s against the academy rules.” (Jada Gonzalez, 17, black hair, brown eyes with spectacles, 6 feet 9, organizer of Sakura Committee)

“Maa…maa…Don’t get too excited as well.” (Jupiter Zilberschlag, 17, curly black hair, yellow eyes, 7 feet, an aura that virtually screamed “Playboy! Beware!”, Vice President of Sakura Committee)

“You can’t blame them though. Even I feel frustrated at Search. A Bearer being out there for seventeen years! It’s a miracle he still lives. Of course, let’s not forget the possibilities of the damages to his mental capacities.” Ed screw up his face in disgust.

The rest in the room had to agree, even the one that had been silent all through the conversation. (Elroy Werchsler, 17, black hair with silver streaks, bright and sharp emerald eyes, 7 feet, cold-demeanour, President of Sakura Committee)

All five of them made up the Sakura Committee. They were practically in control of the academy. What they said, go – no question asked. Even the academy instructors and Principle had to listen to them. Besides this, they were each the heir of their families. The five families made up LEAD, which literally controlled the politics and economy of the world.

“Do they not understand the importance of Bearers to our society?” Zephyr sighed. “Bearers are smaller in numbers than us Dominants. There are not enough Bearers for all Dominants to be mated to, and yet…”

“That’s enough!” a cold voice commanded and immediately, silence reigned. “Search had already given a valid reason why they didn’t detect him earlier.”

“Eh?” the four nearly shouted.

“It seems that he was blocked. Even the strongest empathy in Search would have too get into ten feet radius in order to sense him. It seems one of the Empaths was on a holiday trip and he accidentally stumbled upon the discovery.”

Tense silence reigned this time. This is a serious subject. A Block was difficult and required lots of skills and concentration, not to mention dangerous. Such a strong block on a Bearer? What was going on here?

“LEAD wants us to find out everything,” Elroy continued. “They boy will be arriving in another hour time. He will be registered into Junior Level. Even though he is 17 like us, and should at least be in Senior Level, he’s new and need to start from fresh. Not to mention the problem with the Block.”

“The Block’s not taken off?” Ed asked in shock. Ridiculous! What was Search doing?

“It seems that they couldn’t take it off. It’s too strong.”

The rest were speechless. Why would such strong Block be put on a Bearer?

“Then how will he learn anything? The theory part is fine, but the practical?” Zephyr asked.

“He will only be learning the theories for now until a solution comes about.”

“Which Dormitory will he be placed in?” Jada asked.

“Mine, Dorm 1,” Elroy answered. “Room 101.”

“But that’s…”

“Opposite mine,” Elroy cut his Vice President off.

“Oh…” Zephyr mumbled.

Jupiter grinned cheekily. “You can try to seduce him. It’s time you find a target…” he shut up upon receiving a death glare. “Just joking. No need to glare at me,” he mumbled to himself.

Suddenly, they sat up straighter. They had felt several members of Search and another foreign signature entering the barrier of the academy. They exchanged looks.

“I thought they won’t be here for another hour?” Zephyr asked.

Before his questions could be answered, there were knocks on the door.

“Come in,” Elroy called.

The door opened, and Academy’s secretary stood just outside the door nervously. “The new Bearer has arrived. The Search requested someone from Sakura Committee to take over,” he delivered the news.

“We’ll go. Thank you,” Jupiter answered brightly. He was dying to meet this mysterious Bearer. He wondered what he looked like.

The rest could only shake their heads at his ‘bad habit’; mentally, of course.

The five got up and walked to the landing fields. Since the academy was actually on an island and did not allow ships to board, only planes and helis could get in. Of course, even that were only those that were given permissions to enter, or the barrier would immediately attack.
