If you don't scream, and think peaceful thoughts, it'll go away. If you don't tell anyone, if you don't cry yourself to sleep at night, it will go away. If you stay strong, and pretend, it'll go away.
Just pretend.
Pretending is easy. Smile, laugh, stay confident, stay a smartass. Don’t change. Wear the same type of clothes, eat the same amount of food, do your hair in the morning.
Let the mood swings come - don’t fight them. You’re a teenage girl; people expect them, and won’t look into them. This is the one and only time to vent.
Don’t keep a diary, wash your body often. The imprints will wash away, but recognize they will never fade.
Stay stable, keep breathing, your façade is everything. No one can expect it, no one will accept it. But that’s okay, you won’t tell them anyway.
Don’t tell your parents, don’t tell the cops. Don’t say anything. Just eat your bagel.
He raped you, he beat you, but no one can see it under the clothes. Never stop wearing the clothes.
Run everyday. Become fast. Faster. Faster than him.
Read, analyze, think. Become smarter.
Don’t ever stumble, don’t ever think you are anything you are not. You are you. You were before, and you were after.
Don’t allow yourself to relive it, and if you do - in moments like these - look back not in tears, but in wisdom.
Never put yourself in the same position again. Out maneuver him. Manipulate. Keep your eyes open, shoulders straight, legs closed. You don’t owe him anything - and that includes hatred. If you hate him, you’re giving him something. You gave him enough.
Listen to you’re iPod, text your friends. Give no inclination that something is wrong.
Grow out your nails. They can hurt.
Don’t trust. Even if you didn’t know him, and didn’t trust him… Just don’t. You never know who is like him. You never know…
Don’t be ashamed, and don’t allow him to cripple your pride. Don’t be disgusted at your body - at your stupidity.
Manipulation and lying comes in handy. Master both, and if someone gets through this, deny. It wasn’t your fault, you have nothing to admit to.
Grudges are derived from pain and hate. So remember, don’t have those either. No more giving.
To someone, you do mean something. Not to him, but to someone. So don’t let suicide tempt you. Scoff at the notion; suicide is for the weak.
You are not weak, no matter what he said. Don’t let him win - ever. Don’t hate the world, don’t hate anyone. Stay apathetic, stay original, stay you.
Watch movies, don’t be afraid of the dark, or shadows.
Stay levelheaded. Don’t panic. You are alone, but alone is always better than being with him.
