Arriving at the door,

With just loose change,

And a half-pack of cigarettes,

I wonder if she’ll come today?

She blew me off last night,

For her boyfriend.

But she comes today,

In her blue jeans and checked shirt,

Ink stains on her hands.

Take the train to Basingstoke,

She brought £50,

I’ve brought my ipod.

We crank tunes all the way,

From blues Bessie Smith,

To hard rock Korn.

‘I love you more and more

With each train ride we take’.

It’s so easy to say,

Even on this clunky train,

That’s hot,

That stinks,

That’s sticky.

Bubblegum on every seat,

Blues and pinks and whites.

Every colour in the rainbow,

And out of it.

It’s so easy to say.

So much fun.

‘I love you more and more

With each song we play’

She says.

It’s so easy for her to say.

So much fun.

Even though she blew me off,

For her boyfriend yesterday,

With our green (hers)

And black (mine)

Converses touching,

It’s so easy to say.

‘I love this more and more’. (Me.)

‘I love this more and more.’ (Her.)

It’s so easy to say,

On the train ride to Basingstoke,

Even though she blew me off yesterday.

Hi. I wrote this between two of my From Me To You poems. It was created under the influence of David Levithan's story Boy Meets Boy and Paolo Nutini - Alloway Grove. A lethal combination.
