Chapter 3: Dark Vortex
The group traveled along the trail until they came to a fork. A post stuck in the middle of it with two arrows pointing down each side. One pointed right with, “Kentoken Village” on it, and the other the left with, “Kentoken Valley High” on it.
“We should go to the village,” Kikai said.
“I agree,” Sakura said.
“We’d find out more there too,” Shinwa said.
“Plus we need somewhere to sleep,” Kiseki said as she looked at the sky,” There should be an inn there.”
“Ok,” Shinwa said,” Then let’s get going,” They all went to the right and started on the trail.
“Wait,” Shinwa said as she held out her hands,” Something’s coming.”
“I can feel it too,” Sakura said.
“I don’t,” Kikai said.
“Don’t ruin the moment,” Kiseki whispered to Kikai.
Kikai fell silent and looked around wildly. She then spotted something in the trees, and used some water to knock it down. She then transformed herself and had her boomerang ready. The thing came out of the bushes; A giant purple monster with the body of an ox and the beak of a crane. It rushed after Kikai.
Shinwa quickly made a ying-yang signed barrier in front of Kikai. The monster bumped into it by the beak. Shinwa and Kiseki transformed while Sakura and Kikai distracted the thing. Kiseki held out her staff and yelled, “Hurricane Winds!” A short hurricane appeared from the staff and grew till it came to the monster where it was ‘hooked to’ the sky. The ox/ crane thing flew to the air.
Shinwa put her daggers together and pointed it to the hurricane saying, “Dark Vortex!” A flash of blackness rushed to the hurricane and surrounded it. A deafening scream came from it right before the whole thing completely disappeared.
“I believe that it would be good to go now,” Kikai said.
“I believe that you are correct,” Sakura said.
“I believe that we should change back,” Kiseki put in.
“I believe that we should stop saying ‘I believe’,” Shinwa said grumpily.

Shinshou watched them from his glass table that lay under him. “That one has a unique ability,” he said pointing to Shinwa. “What is her name?”
“That shall be found our,” Aka said and changed her voice to “Johnathan” and called out, “So, what is your life like?”
“Good,” Kara called, “I guess.”
“What about your friends?”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you have friends?”
“Yeah! Four, kind of since one is my sister.”
“Kikai?”
“Yes.”
“Who are the others?”
“Why?”
“I want to know.”
“Well, my cousin is Kiseki-“
“What’s she like?”
“Cool I guess.”
“How?”
“Umm…. Well, she is more of the one who thinks of things to me, but-“
“What about the other two?”
“Sakura seems to be more of the kind one who is great at helping others out, and Shinwa just has a split personality.”
“Split as in what?”
“Like yin-yang.”
“Good and evil?”
“Not really evil, but more agitated and silent.”
“Hmm…”
“What?”
“Nothing, well, I’m going to take a nap now.”
“Ok, good night then.”
“Good night.”
Aka turned to Shinshou and smirked. “Perfect,” she said slyly.

Kikai skipped along the trail with the others. “I can’t wait until we get there!” she exclaimed.
“Neither can I!” Sakura agreed.
“We get to meet new people!”
“Find our about them!”
“New food!”
“New friends!”
“Yup!” Kikai looked at the sky and saw that the first star had already been joined by others,” We didn’t get to make any wishes.”
“We can next time.”
“Ok!”
“We’re here!” Kiseki announced as the town lay ahead of them. It was huge! There were tons of small houses and a few mansions resided there. Stores took up the rest of the space though.
“It’s gigantic!” Kikai yelled and ran to it. The rest ran after her until she stopped at a hotel.
“Don’t… do that… again,” Shinwa panted.
“Yes,” Sakura and Kiseki sighed in unison.
Kikai abruptly knocked on the door loudly.
“This is a hotel Kikai, not a house,” Shinwa said.
“I know, just felt like knocking,” Kikai replied. She was about to turn the handle when it moved by itself and an old-like man stood in it.
“Hello?” He asked.
“We’d like to have a room to stay in sir,” Sakura said.
“Why sure!” the man replied and held the door open for them. “Come right it!”
“Okies!” Kikai exclaimed and jumped through the door.
“You may need to stop yelling Kikai,” Kiseki said. “You could wake up the people here.” She then followed in.
“No one’s come to this inn in years!” the man said as the others came in and he shut the door.
“You mean to say that no one has come to this beautiful place?” Sakura asked. The room was filled with glorious vases with flowers, shapes, and other wonderful pictures on them. A large light brown rug was laid sideways in the middle of the floor as they touched the sides of the east and west walls; two brown couches were on each side with two tables on each side of them with vases arranged on them, and the desk was at the far left corner on the outside of the rug.
“Peaceful,” Shinwa complemented.
“Thank you and yes,” the man said. “You may stay here for free tonight.”
“Arigatou!” Sakura said.
“Yeah! Thanks!” Kikai said.
“So where are our rooms?” Kiseki said.
“Right this way,” the man said and led them to the four rooms. “They become how you feel most comfortable.”
They each went to their rooms and went to sleep. The night was quiet and peaceful. Though Shinwa was in for a worse time tonight….
