Hello there. This and ‘For the Love of a Vampire’ are the first stories I’ve written. I usually write short stories or poems but I think it’s time for a change. I hope you enjoy it and review so I can know how I’m doing. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Enjoy…

“Ugh! Where the hell is it?!” I growled out loudly.

I dug desperately through my new Juicy Couture hand bag for my jeweled mirror as the classmates that joined me in the front row of the room, stared at me in amusement. I wasn’t usually as much of an entertaining mess as I had been in class that morning, but my frustration from earlier events in the day had gotten the best of me and I was now about to loose control.

Geez, first Trinky decides to use my jacket as a kitty litter box, and now this?! It’s just not my morning…but I could’ve sworn I had grabbed it out of the limo though!

No wait… what’s this?! AHA! Got it!

A sense of delight flooded through me for the first time in what felt like a billion years, as I held the sparkling mirror in my small manicured hand. While I studied my gorgeous self in the mirror, my peripheral vision caught sight of someone walking into the classroom. I took one glance up then immediately directed my focus back to my reflection, for it didn’t take more then one glance to know who's gangly figure it was. Ms.Jubery. My poor fashionably retarded counselor nervously began making a so-called, ‘very important announcement.’

Whatever

If it doesn’t involve me, it must not me that important.

I resumed examining myself in the mirror even more intently as she cleared her throat and recited mumbled words that I had heard many times before;

“New student…Matthew… welcome…fellow students will be ….help him out around campus…

blah blah blah.”

It wasn’t much of a rarity for a new kid to be transferred into Fairview High, or an old one to be taken out. Most of the rich mommies and daddies around town moved there kin from prep school to prep school (even too far off boarding school’s on occasion) as they pleased. Not giving a damn whether or not it was an inconvenience to the offspring.

I flipped my long dark hair over my shoulder and put my mirror away as Ms.Jubery finally put an end to her How to Welcome a New Student speech. I then quickly turned myself around in my seat. I needed to get a clear view of the, oh so luscious one, Nathan, who sat in the third row. He was my latest mission.

This year I had successfully battled and conquered the captain’s of the; football, basketball, swimming, track and soccer team’s, and now I was prepared to win over Nathan. Captain of the wrestling team. I figured; if guys can go around screwing with girl’s hearts, have the time of their lives doing it and still come out looking like the damn hero in the end, then why can’t a chick?! Not that I intentionally wanted to hurt the guys in any way, I’d just never had my heart broken, and I was going to keep it that way.

The men in my family (other then my beloved brother Nick of coarse) had already damaged me far beyond belief; teaching me to never trust the opposite sex. I’d seen some of the most powerful women in my family crumble at the hands of their husbands, and I took pity on them. Never would it happen to me again, too much pain. But I was over that. There was no use holding on to the past, just hold on to the lesson learned right?

Any way, on with the story of my task: Nathan. We had just recently begun ‘seeing’ each other, so to speak. Let me explain. He’d come over to the mansion almost every night to hang out with my brother who was a year older then me, which made him a senior like Nathan. While they’d play video games, I would run around the house in the tiniest outfits I could forage. That’s where I would ‘see’ him in my brother’s room, and sometimes he would glance my way and ‘see’ me too. We had been ‘seeing’ each other for about two weeks or so, and I finally decided I should take it to the next level and talk to him.

Usually I never made the first move. I thought it was a bad look for a girl, besides guys were automatically drawn to me enough to do it first. But this guy was different. I was positive that he liked out going girls, the dominant type, so I was gong to show him I could be as aggressive as the next girl. A big smile plastered itself on my face as I thought of my flawless plan. I looked around the third row until he was finally in my view.

Ah…I can see his gorgeous face…wait….

What the HELL?!

I could feel the look of bewilder ness stain my features, as I rested my eyes on that terrible sight.

Meghan Jameson was apparently sitting in a new horrifying seat. No. It couldn’t be considered a seat at all, it was a lap! With her legs crossed and a flirtatious hand sifting slowly through her golden streaming hair, she sat upon Nathan as comfortable as she would Santa. My heart rate sped frantically and I wanted nothing more then to pounce on that filthy skank.

Eww. Why would he pick her over me?! I’m a freaking model!

You know, for being my best friend since the first grade, Meg sure did have a tendency to choose all of my guys to be touchy with.

Oh well, she can have my leftovers…he’s old news anyway. But why her?

I mean she couldn’t be any prettier then me! Any body would agree her features don’t stand a chance next to mine…

She is rather gorgeous though. And people do tend to prefer blondes to brunettes.

Shut up. Anytime we go on interviews for a modeling job I always get booked right away, it takes them almost three calls to get to her…besides I think I have a much better a-

“Welcome to our class Mathew! We hope-” My teacher, Mr.Lungil spoke, interrupting my bitchy complaining thoughts of Meg.

“Mathias…that’s my name. Not Matthew.” A different male’s voice cut him off, definitely not belonging to the teacher.

It was a sultry deep voice that lightly drifted into my ears and caught them by surprise. My head quickly jerked itself back around to the front, in curiosity of who could possibly carry such an attractive tone.

As soon as I turned though, my eyes met two of the most beautiful silver eyes I’d ever seen. They looked as though they belonged to an angel. That mystifying sight was the last thing I saw before a sharp pain sent a shock to the center of my head and everything around me began spinning wildly.

“OMG!! The ceiling fell on Genevieve!!” Screeched a recognizable female voice.

And with that, everything went black and my body collapsed onto the cold classroom floor.

That peachy moment, was the first step (or shall I say fall) to my new life.
