A picture’s worth a thousand words

But cut that image into thirds

What to hear, what to see

In a broken picture ceased to be

Stare at text – black on white

That stands sharp as shadows on light

Pick apart phrase by phrase

It speaks alone in different ways

Pretty words and fireflies

Quiet songs and subtle skies

That whisper along glass-like seas

And shift to lazy harmonies

Separate phrases laugh and sigh

But the words along never lie

A picture’s worth a thousand words

Just cut that image into thirds
