Written while 13 years old.

Suffocate

Living, a pressure on your heart

A shell around your soul

Layers of masks,

Illusions to hide the real you.

A smile

A laugh

An obvious fake.

Don’t they realise how you suffocate?

Carefully constructed walls,

No windows, doors.

Waiting to be broken down.

Don’t they see?

Slits let out the tension,

Only pain, not to kill?

A nod

A grin

An obvious fake.

Don’t they realise how you suffocate?
