Red Rose

This morning I looked through the newspaper to find my horoscope. It said that I'd meet someone new. Of course, there were rumours that my school would get a new student, but I never thought that they'd be so... captivating.

His name is Kazuki. Kazuki Takahashi. And he stole my lemonade. At first, he seemed snarky and painfully sarcastic, but I warmed up to him almost immediately. He was interesing; the way he propped his elbow up on the table I sat at and studied me. His dark eyes held my light ones prisoner.

I want to learn more about Kazuki.

I can't explain why he captures my attention more than the other wastes of human flesh at my high school. Maybe it's because he's new, a breath of fresh air.

Maybe it's because he's different, with his dark hair that ends in blue and his almond eyes.

Or maybe it has to do with one of his first comments to me, "You were like the one red rose in a patch of weeds."

Maybe I'm reading too into it...
